The B&B
facility: get in «zero obstacles»
An ideal place for families, with the possibility to
accommodate up to 5 people in one convenient apartment, with private
bathroom. But also extremely suitable to accommodate one or more couple,
thanks to an easily modifiable logistic disposal. Guests can get in
without having to face any a step: there are no barriers, which is ideal
for people who have difficulty walking or for baby carriages.
The structure that houses «al Duca» is a typical local building of the
late '40s, completely renovated in 1999: the B&B was renewed in January
2012 to restore the original stone structure, cool in summer and warm in
winter. For the décor and furniture - a mix of practicality and elegance
- bright colors were chosen.
A central position, but in the open air
Very close to the pedestrian shopping area (only 300 meters),
the Bed&Breakfast alDuca - located in the Via Duca degli Abruzzi (GPS
coordinates: N 45° 41' 41" - E 9° 39' 39"), near via Sant’Antonino - is
in an absolutely quiet location: there are also fruit trees and small
vegetable garden. Its position, at the side of Piazza Pontida, home of
the famous Ducato, is totally strategic: you can walk to the Upper Town
(Città Alta), the medieval town of Bergamo, in 10 minutes through the
scenic Via Sant’Alessandro, or through the suggestive stairs, or by the
funicular railway (800 meters). At 200 meters there are the bus stops of
the main city buses, a little further away our guests can find the bus
from and to the Orio al Serio airport «Il Caravaggio» and to the Fiera
of Bergamo. The train station is less than a kilometer away.
The «BBalDuca» is 200 meters from the Castelli clinic and from the
hospital Matteo Rota, 500 meters from the Courts and San Francesco
nursing home, 700 meters from the Academy of Guardia di Finanza and 800
from the entrance of the ex hospital of Bergamo, Ospedali Riuniti, Santa
Lucia neighborhood. A
few more steps and you reach the well equipped Italcementi swimming
pools. In the surrounding area: Atalanta stadium, sports hall Volley
Foppapedretti, Golf Bergamo L’Albenza, Golf Indoor a Mozzo, Kart Track
Curno, Tennis Club Bergamo. Milano is 1 hour away (by car or by train),
less than 1 hour to reach slopes for skiing.
Other services
Access to the structure is completely independent, by coded
cards that open doors and gates. Our guests also have a kitchen corner.
There is a minibar and a safe, wi-fi service on request and, for sunny
days, even some bicycles for hire. And, if you like it, we will provide
all the equipment to ... wash your car. Come and visit us, you’ll really
